Attended higher secondary technical college (HTL Voecklabruck, Upper Austria). After school fulltime-job as an engineer in Vienna. Then studies in sociology at the University of Vienna. Degree in 2002. Several jobs during study, e.g. technical draftsman and freelancer in the field of marketing and promotion. From 2000 on, news editor in economics and politics at derStandard.at. Since 2004 member of the academic staff at the IHS, since 2009 doctoral studies in Sociology at the University of Vienna.

Research in the field of education and training, focus on labour market outcomes of educational activities; development of statistical indicators and monitoring systems of the correspondence between qualification supply and demand, evaluation of Active Labour Market Programs.
