Degree in sociology and political science (1995); Postgraduate course in sociology at the IHS (1996-1998); Special course on further education management and personnel management (1997-1999). At present doctoral studies at the University of Vienna. Thematic field of thesis: “Equality of opportunity and social exclusion in Austria‘s education system”.

Since 1998 member of the academic staff at the IHS; since 2002 teaching “empirical research methods” at the University of Applied Sciences FH-Campus Wien.

Main areas of research:

* education research: especially dropouts, early school leaving, disadvantaged youth, equity in education;
* research at the interface between education and employment: anticipation research, transition, lifelong learning;
labour market research: in particular active labour market policy and long term unemployment.
* Impact analysis and evaluation of programs and single measures
