In diesem Forschungsprojekt wurden zunächst durch eine Analyse des Beschäftigungs-, Bildungs- und Innovationssystems in Niederösterreich (Band 1) die quantitativen Grundlagen für die Entwicklung des niederösterreichischen Fachhochschulwesens analysiert und prognostiziert.

Fachhochschulen sind ein Teil des Bildungssystems, deren Aufgabe es ist, hochqualifizierte Arbeitskräfte für das Beschäftigungssystem zur Verfügung zu stellen. Darüber hinaus ist es auch das Ziel, dass FHs durch ihre Integration in Innovationssysteme Impulse im Rahmen der Regionalentwicklung setzen.

Adaptation-Anticipation of Higher, Non-University Vocational Education and Training Institutions to Industrial Change: Reflections on and Case Studies of the Austrian Situation

This European study focuses on the mechanisms of higher, non-university vocational education and training institutions to anticipate future developments and to adapt to industrial change. In the Austrian national report we therefore analyzed the newly introduced Fachhochschul sector. In the first chapter the educational system, its history and its responsiveness to the labor market is discussed in general before we focus on higher vocational education and its mechanisms of adaptation/anticipation more in detail.
